Artisticly

Started to paint "for real" in 1982. Autodidact mainly.

Release of a Poetry Booklet 1986: "Childrens Space - Splinters of Light"

("Barnrymd - Skärvor av Ljus").

My personal artistic way goes toward "Existential Symbolism" during 1986 - 98.Thereafter an expansion against a perceptually more free kind of paint work, that can bee seen in "New Phase Collection" and "Water Moods".Presently I work rather along these "3 Dimensions" as some sort of "ProgressiveSynthesis" of earlier forms of expression. It is said that I developped an own "style". Perhaps. I don´t sign my pictures anymore. No need. A "Pegrén" is easy to recognise.Occasionally I put my signature on the back - when wished for. Nowadays (2009) regarded and acknowledged as one of the foremost and deeply envolved painters of the World - with regard to human conscience and understanding.

Philosophy as an Artist

Somebody has said that "being an Artist is not a profession. it is rather a state ofbeing". No, in my view it is more precise than such a "dim thing". To me it is morea question of "Life attitudes - melted together in and expressed through a personaltemperament" which in good moments give origin to pictures with "high temperature".For me the essence of Picture Poesis lies so close to that of Music - in expression, attraction and valeur. Both communicate directly with 3 of -"our life-primary senses: Vision, hearing and the intuitive feeling" in full resonance with "the pounding heart"...

Exhibitions

I have been and still am a bit restrictive with exhibitions - for several reasons -mostly because people liked and bought nearly all the pictures I reached to paint- before I "pulled the brakes" - pleasant of course - but my technique was a hinderingfor a huge production. At least in oil works. To often too little in storage to actually be able to exhibit. Added to that - illnesses in longer periods .
